In May of 2011, we launched our Kourageous Kids program, offering families with children suffering from various cancers, as well as other life threatening illnesses, the opportunity to live a fantasy through portraiture. This program gives children the chance to have their photos taken with costumes, stuffed animals and other child-like creations while taking their minds off treatments and hospitals.

Children and parents facing a cancer diagnosis or any diagnosis that is threatening their children's lives fear the worst. They may face days and weeks of invasive treatments, chemotherapy, hair loss and faltering self-esteem. We want to honor these heroic children by creating a fun, positive and memorable experience. These photographs offer parents hope and a short break from needles, treatments and pain, with images of their children in a happy atmosphere. Children have the opportunity to feel special, have fun, be normal, AND feel like a 'star'!
